On this page you will learn a little about Black & White Photography. B & W will live forever.

Black & White Photography.
If you've ever taken a college beginning photography course, you will learn to shoot, develop and print black & white photos. Good place to start.

It can be challenging to make a good Black & White image. B&W is an abstract medium. Shadows taken for granted in color is now a major design element in B&W. Makes you see. B&W requires custom processing to get the results you want.

You can also make excellent Black & White photos using digital cameras and Adobe's Photoshop® software. There are lots of tutorials for this on the web.

Portrature.
Portrature is timeless. A 100-400 film camera or digital camerain late afternoon light with a reflector for fill is perfect. Subject must be relaxed. Fill that frame. Shoot and shoot. Do some research at the library on portrature. Practice what you learned. Develop your own style.

Fashion/Head shots.
There is still a demand for great shots. The fashion and head shot markets still use Black & White photography. Here is my fashion/head shot.

 Jenna3

This is filling the frame. I even cut off her elbows but no one cares. As long as you cut both, If I only cut one, it would not be symmetrical. I've done my half. The other half is your model. Jenna looks at the camera with high confidence.

End of B&W discussions.
